Palm Desert is best known for its year-round sunshine and overall vacation vibe. Here are some of the main attractions of this incredible desert community:
Our city is home to the BNP Paribas Open at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Drawing the world’s most accomplished tennis players, you can be a part of 2 full weekends of unparalleled court action.
The Coachella Music Festivals, Stagecoach and Desert Trip (Old Chella) host thousands of concert goers at the Coachella Valley Polo Fields. However, free concerts can be found throughout the city all year long.
Check out The Rock Yard at Fantasy Springs or the weekend markets at The College of the Desert. Patrons of Palm Desert are an active bunch. Hike various local trails through the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains or trek through Joshua Tree National Park. Join a cycling group. Experience one (or several) of over 100 Golf Courses that sprinkle the area. The kiddos will love the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens or a trip to the giant water park.
There is no shortage of shopping and dining options! Palm Desert is home to El Paseo, the Rodeo Drive of the Desert. On this 3 mile strip you will find world class shopping, amazing food and coffee shops. Old Town La Quinta provides a family friendly night out or head the opposite direction to The River at Rancho Mirage that hosts Babe’s BBQ and Brewhouse, Five Guys Burgers, The Yard House, Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang’s and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse. If you choose to stay home and cook, Wholefoods, Jensen’s, Aldi’s and Albertson’s are at your fingertips!
Below are links to some of our favorite sites that keep us up to date on the activities offered in Palm Desert. We love the last one that links to the Palm Springs Modernism tours!
